Swachh Bharat

ArchivesPersonal Hygiene and Cleanliness is as important as the Cleanliness and Sanitation
at the Community Level. We as Individuals, are very concerned about the issue of
cleanliness and Sanitation, but want to contribute very little and feel that it is the responsibility of the government.
Government at its level has to provide for removal and disposal of waste, but our habit is to littler anywhere, like spitting
after chewing of tobacco/Non tobacco products, throwing away peels of fruits, empty packs of chipps, and bottles of cold drinks etc......read review

Injustice on 28 January 2015

Today morning while reading the news paper I came across very disturbing news.
“On 28th January 2015, the High Court bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justice P K S Baghel commuted the death sentence of Surender Koli to life imprisonment on the ground of "inordinate delay" in deciding his mercy petition.”
How is it that the delay in execution of this person gives him the right to live? He committed heinous crime against the humanity where out of the total 19 people he killed only one was an adult (20 yr girl) and rest all were children, below the age of 10 Years.
As a child I heard a story that some children were playing and one of them would sit on a high platform and deliver justice in case the children fought over some thing. When that platform was dug, the throne of king Vikramaditya was discovered.
This story left a lasting impression in my mind that when you sit on the seat of justice, you tend to deliver justice.
I am not going into the technicalities of the recent judgment. I am more concerned about the justice.
Sequence of events
On 3 September 2014 Court issued death warrant.
On evening 6:30 of 4 September 2014 Surender Koli was transferred to Meerut Jail, to be hanged on September 12, 2014.
On 29th October 2014, the Supreme Court bench headed by the Chief Justice of India H L Dattu rejected the death sentence review petition stating that the court had not committed any error in the judgment.
On 28th January 2015, the High Court bench commuted the death sentence of Surender Koli to life imprisonment on the ground of "inordinate delay" in deciding his mercy petition.
High Court should consider that Surender Koli KILLED 19 INNOCENT PEOPLE.
Has the justice been delivered in this case.

"The Beast"

President Obama will be state guest in India, on this Republic Day, 26th JANUARY 2015.
The much talked about “The Beast”, President Obama's Cadillac is definitely a sight to behold.

“The Beast”

1.
Like any other presidential state car, The Beast is an extraordinary production car. Chevrolet Kodiak chassis, diesel engine and transmission, Escalade headlamps and tail lights from discontinued STS make it look like Cadillac.

2. It owns an airplane. The Beast travels in a C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft; it has the company of a second limo, a heavily armored Chevrolet Suburban communications vehicle, nicknamed Roadrunner. It is a rolling communications office directly linked to a military satellite has a SATCOM dome on its roof

3. The Beast armor plating is 8 inches thick and the doors are as heavy as those of a Boeing 757. Five-inch thick bulletproof windows contain at least five layers. Its gigantic, bus-size Goodyear tires are Kevlar-reinforced run-flat can keep The Beast on the road for quite some distance. The sealed interior reduces the risk of a chemical attack; the fuel tanks are insulated by special foam, in the event of an impact.

4. The Beast is packed with all the necessary stuff such as, Firefighting equipment and oxygen tanks to a cache of the president's blood type, tear gas canisters, grenade launchers, and shotguns.

5. It has provision for seating of seven passengers. The driver, the Secret Service protective agent for the President sits in the front passenger seat and the president. Four additional seats, three rearward facing and one seat next to the president for a guest.

6. The Beast is actually a family of Beast-like vehicles. Some look more like a Cadillac DTS. The other limousines are used for high-ranking foreign officials and VIP guests when they're in Washington, D.C. It is known that the Secret Service rotates between presidential vehicles.

President at times travels in the heavily-armored Chevrolet Suburban or a modified Prevost bus which is known as Ground Force One.

7. The Beast uses a Duramax diesel engine. The diesel engines are quite durable, low volatility that reduces the risk of its exploding – it is available everywhere in the world.

8. The Beast has highly trained drivers who can execute tight J-turns and other police-style evasion techniques. These drivers undergo extensive training.

9.  The Beast takes about 15 seconds to hit 60 mph from a complete stop, the beast top speed is max at 60 mph. All that weight makes sipping fuel at a rate of 8 mpg.

10. This year on 26th of January 2015 it will bring President Barak Obama to the Raj Path where he will witness the Republic Day celebrations of the largest democracy on this Planet.

Elections in Delhi

In December 2013 Assembly elections, Delhi Voters rejected Congress after 15 Years of rule, in the name of Corruption, Insecurity and Policy paralysis. Arvind Kajriwal’s AAP gained from the chaos created by the congress and a rudderless self promoting local leadership of BJP.  Victory of Arvind Kajriwal’s AAP was a lease of fresh air for Delhi, and true reflection of Democracy in India. Unfortunately, Arvind Kejriwal proved himself to be a disaster, with less emphasis on governance and more into showman ship. His behaviour left a lot to be desired as he did not realise his stature a official leader.  He has not changed his style of working as almost every day he holds a meeting trying to belittle his opponents. If he investigates his own AAP members, Volunteers, Office bearers will also be found wanting. He is like the common politician he used to criticize before assuming power in Delhi. Now again Delhi is facing an election.  Delhi needs a Chief Minister, who is responsible, with clean image and background, one who is strong and decision maker, one who can deliver. One has to generate confidence in the Polity, Bureaucracy, and Society at large.  Now it is responsibility of all the political parties to all the candidates should be with clean background. Delhi has the potential and resources to lead by example and will be able to show case to the entire world that with strong will of the people of Delhi it can become a world class city. It is for all the political parties to fulfill their duty and responsibility of selecting candidates with clean track record and the voters of Delhi will fulfill their duty and right by coming out to vote. The onus is on all of us to plan and work for Delhi and the residents...visit us
